Grizzly Track: Raku
2008
Stoneware Pottery
8" Diameter
I found this Grizzly track near Two Ocean Lake in northern Grand Teton National Park. It is a right front paw. The front paw of a grizzly is usually smaller than the rear in a track but this front paw is almost the size of most rear ones! It is one of the largest I have ever seen. I made the plaster cast of the track in April 2007. This is a clay impression of the plaster track. This track includes a built in notch for wall hanging, but also looks great on a desk or table. This track is available in both Raku and Clear glaze style, see the clear wolf track for an example of the clear glaze, please specify when ordering which style you would like.

The Raku process involves taking cherry red hot pieces and immersing them in sawdust. This means results can vary in color or sheen, as every piece is unique. Your print will be similar to those shown but not identical.
