This mother and her newborn moose were located near Lake creek in Grand Teton National Park in early spring. The coat on mom is just naturally thin as she goes from her winter coat to her summer one, all moose look pretty mangy in the spring, in about a month however the new coat grows in and they look much more fit. The calf was one of the youngest I have ever seen.
